Patient Internet users find plentiful tips

The American Homeowners Association's AHA HOMECentral contains worthwhile information for those who can find it.  The site's major sections consist of outside links and an article archive.  But if you have the patience, finding a helpful tidbit is just a matter of wading through headlines and teasers or using the site's search engine (it may take a while!)

The site's design and navigation could use improvement, but they've done a good job of gathering an assortment of articles on getting started, financing, buying, owning and selling, as well as a large collection of home care tips.  Message boards have been added, and the site has partnered with Inman to provide daily real estate news.  A new smart idea section gives tips on everything from what to ask a potential lender to how to get rid of ants.

     Best bets:
  • Smart ideas: A wide assortment of tips on home care.
  • Hot homeowner tips: Tips for homeowners and homebuyers.
