Someone taking out a $22,000.00 36-month new-car loan at the current average would pay $675.98 a month for the life of the loan. Nationally, the highest rate on a 36-month new-car loan was 12.13 percent. The lowest rate was 3.83 percent. Six months ago, the average rate was 7.39 percent.
