Summer camps offer endless variety

This summer an estimated that about 10 million children will attend some 12,000 summer camps, each unique and offering an ever-increasing variety of programs and activities.

Some are more than 100 years old; others are newcomers. Some are non-profit and operated by organizations; others are generations-long family businesses.

Some are religious, some devoted to highly specialized interests.

Here's a small sampling of the variety of camps around the country.
