Betsy Verecky is a freelance writer and editor.  She joined The Associated Press in 2004 in Athens, Greece, covering the Paralympics, art and archaeology exhibitions and minority rights issues. From there, she moved to Louisville, Kentucky, where she worked as a print and broadcast writer and editor for nearly a year.
