Overview
Tucked away between Flagstaff, to the southeast, and
Phoenix, to the northeast, Prescott is referred to as
the "mile-high city" at an elevation of 5,400 feet above
sea level. The city has a rich past. Some 637 buildings
and more than 60 objects are listed in the National
Register of Historic Places. The city also offers world-class
golf courses, area shopping, easily accessible medical
care and more than 300 days of sunshine a year. With
five area lakes within miles of downtown, there are
endless possibilities for fishing, kayaking or simply
enjoying the scenery. The 1.25-million acre Prescott
National Forest surrounds the city on three sides. Below
